Boulder Youth Actors Conservatory

Repertory Munchkins (ages 6-8)
Wednesdays 4:00-6:00. Saturdays 9:30-11:30am Sept 27th – May
3rd
Introduce your child to the world of theater in a safe non-competitive
environment where both process and product are equally stressed. Students
are introduced to all areas of the performing arts including voice,
dance, speech and acting. The schedule will go as follows: Wednesdays
are spent on introducing the basic principles of acting and rehearsing
for our show and Saturdays are spent in voice and dance class. Two
productions per year are performed by the troupe. All students will
participate in an end of the year company-wide “Olympics of
the theater” event to culminate.
Youth Repertory Junior (ages 8-10)
Saturdays 12-5pm Sept 27th – May 3rd
This program will introduce students to the fundamentals of the performing
arts. Students will receive training in acting, voice and dance and
will prepare for a winter show and spring showcase as well as an end
of the year company wide “Olympics of the Theater”. The
schedule goes as follows: Saturdays from 12-2pm are spent on exploring
different acting modalities such as: introduction to scene work, improvisation,
actor physicality and neutral mask work, 2-5pm are spent in singing
and dance class where musical theater styles will be introduced as
well proper voice technique and contemporary dance forms. All students
will participate in an end of the year company “Olympics of
the Theater” to culminate on May 3rd.
Repertory Performing Group (ages 9-11)
Saturdays 11am – 5:30pm September 6th – May 3rd
Our focus with this group is to build a strong, diverse ensemble of
student performers to perform a fall show and spring musical revue.
The ideal student for this company is one who has had some performance
experience. Focus on building strong performance skills and activating
confidence and stage presence will be emphasized in our thorough and
intensive rehearsal process. The four to five weeks between the fall
show and winter break will be spent in a variety of different performance
workshops. The final five weeks will be spent in preparation for our
company wide “Olympics of the Theater” event held as our
end of the year culmination on May 3rd.
Youth Repertory Senior
(ages 12+)
Sundays 1pm – 6pm & Fridays 4:30pm – 8:30pm September
26th – May 3rd
This company will help to provide students with the tools necessary
to become confident performers. A strong emphasis will be placed on
acting and creating a strong foundation of body awareness and relationship
with others on the stage. Proper voice and dance technique will be
equally emphasized. The schedule is as follows; Fridays 4:30-8:30
acting, voice and dance class with 30 minutes for dinner and Sundays
ensemble work and rehearsal. All students will participate in an end
of the year company “Olympics of the Theater” to culminate
on May 3rd. The Company will produce a Christmas show and a Spring
Musical.

Youth Actors Conservatories are pre-professional training
year round (mid Sept - mid April) programs, intended to give the student
intensive and specialized training in the performing arts. Focus will
vary depending on the program but will often include character work,
scene study, voice, and production work. Our Youth Actors Conservatories
are composed of more serious and committed student actors.
